The Village of Watkins Glen has instituted a new rapid emergency notification service called CodeRED®. The intent is to make odd/even parking less of a nuisance. You will not be expected to move your vehicle unless there is an impending storm or scheduled work. The new CodeRED® system will distribute customized pre-recorded messages via telephone to the entire Village or a targeted area in less than two minutes. By registering, you'll be added to the call list. This service will be used for snow events (to activate odd/even parking), leaf collection, downed power lines, water and sewer problems, road closures, natural disasters, and other emergencies or services. Village residents are encouraged to enter their contact information for home, business, and mobile phones so the Village may contact them. It is important to register, especially if you have an unlisted number, cell phone or VOIP. Those who do not register may not be notified by the new CodeRED® notification system. NOTICE: There will be a Workshop Meeting Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the Board Room of the Municipal Building. The purpose of this meeting will be to establish the foundation of the upcoming budget. There will be no formal actions taken at this workshop.

NOTICE: The Village of Watkins Glen Planning Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 7 pm in the Board Room of the Municipal Building, 303 N. Franklin St.
NOTICE: The Watkins Glen Community Center roller skate program will be held Fridays, January 20th, February 3rd, 10th and 24th, March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th, April 20th and 27th and May 4th, 11th and 18th. Hours will be 6-10pm. Children up to 5th grade may skate from 6 to 8 pm and the older children may skate from 8 to 10 pm. The skate fee is $5.00. This included the skate rental fee. Once your child leaves the building we are not responsible and there is no re-entry. Roller blades are no longer allowed as they are marking and scratching the floor.
For your convenience the Village of Watkins Glen accepts credit/debit cards. Visa cards are only accepted for tax payments. Credit card convenience fees of 2.5% of payment amount (minimum charge $3.00). $3.00 for PIN-based debit card transactions. Visa, MasterCard, Discover.
